Anyone out there using X5 and Rasterlink Pro? I seem to be having troubles exporting some files into rasterlink and I can figure out the cause, most of the time it is on larger stuff like 4'x8' but I don't think size is the issue. Some of the things I create just seem to freeze up when I try and export..... and ideas? Perhaps I could send someone one of my files to look at? I have no idea what it is but I really need to figure this out :(
All great info guys thanks! I will try these things out and let you know how it goes! But yes, some of my work includes car wraps and billboards.
Well I tried various things you guys mentioned with same results... didn't try the PDF thing yet. Rasterlink is giving me... Postscript error offending command @ imager, no idea what thats about. It would be nice if I could send this file to someone to look at and figure out, im thinking its not size related or dpi related, i dunno.
I have no idea then.Maybe if you try to remove parts of your design and export, then do the same thing with other parts, and maybe you can isolate what's causing it. It may take a while but you learn a lot from it, of what is possible to do, and if some things should be avoided.
I also suggest you try the PDF route. More effects are preserved as is, and the file size is usually much smaller.Don't think the cut part will go through though, so you'll have to create a separate file for cutting.Publish to PDF from Draw and Import (or just drag and drop) the PDF to RasterLink.Use PDF, Acrobat level 5.0 or higher. Don't know what level RL supports but I use 6.0 myself.
The GS View links are here http://community.coreldraw.com/wikis/howto/printing-issues.aspx
Ghostscript is installed as part of the normal X5 install.
If it renders with GS then the issue is the RIP you need to identify the object cause the RIP to fail and render that as a bitmap in Draw.
If it fails in GS you have a serious issue with the file and will need to look for the object that is causing the file to fail.
If it is a landscape page then you need to load a PPD for that printer in Draw, if you can't find on look in the MAC driver set.
