Drawing Cogwheel

I really like the first 2 suggestions, they seem fast and easy to perform. Another method is as follows:

• draw a circle
• draw a rectangle or similar shape as one tooth on the cog
• duplicate the tooth and create a blend group between the 2 cogs
• use the circle as a path (attach blend group to path)
• increase/decrease number of steps in blend to add/delete cogs
• choose the options to "use full path" and "rotate all objects"
• you will have to manually rotate one of the control cogs to tidy up the rotations
• break blend group apart
• ungroup
• select everything and weld

This sounds a lot more complicated than it is. I am releasing a macro soon for orbiting shapes around a circle amongst several other things. In the video below the macro is basically performing the steps shown above, but at a slight distance from the circle (inside the circle). It also applies an extrusion and applies srop shadow at the end.
