I have coreldraw 11 and it came with photopain 11 and I need some help with Lables.
If you go on the Net or to a store you can get a lot of Lables by say Avery.
And then you need a program to open the Templeatte in so you can print on the Lables and they now how to Aline on the page.
And the same thing goes for CD VDV Lables.
Is there certain Lables I can get and have Coreldraw or photopaint open a Templeate for it?????
I don't have version 11, but I think the process is the same. In CorelDraw, go to Tools>Options. Look under Document>Labels, select Labels and you'll see a large drop down list where you can choose the label brand, size, etc. Check the Help for more info.
Patti
Patti is right -- I do have CorelDRAW 11 and that is exactly how to do it.
Good job, Patti!!
so I can ad all my adress to Coreldraw and have it print it out on every Envalope.
And I can create like a Data Bass of all my addresses and it will keep it and I can ad more as I go on like next week and so on??
Yes, it is a type of database. You can save the file and information using CorelDRAW Print Merge if you save it to start with. When you use it again you load instead of create. I suggest you create a small data base using the feature. Save it as a txt or rtf file. Close Corel. Reopen and start again like you were doing a new Print Merge, except you will load your saved database. You can then alter, delete and or add data.
If you have a spread sheet program, I suggest you use it instead. I use Microsoft Excel. Sometimes I use a real database manage, Microsoft Access, but a spread sheet app is easier to work with and quicker to set up. In both you have to save the information as a CSV (comma separated value) file to use in Draw's Print Merge.
I will say that I have never used the Envelope in the labels layout. I see no reason not to. I never noticed it.
Practice and learn/
OK I did go into Print Marge then Create something LOL
In the screen that you start with it asks for a Name and you can keep ading Diferant Names.
Is this the Name of the Dada Bass or what is it?
The left window says Name.
The right side says feilds of marge.
and a checkbox that says incramentale field Dada.
OK I am so soory I went in the help files and I got more confuesed.
After I go to file print marge create print marge field.
I need some help making a Data Bass of all my adresses.
The first screen has two sideds I make a name and click AD.
Is this the name I give to my Dada Bass?????????????
And the next screen says edit Fields or something like this.
But I don't see any Places like Adress City State things like this.
A database is a set of records that contains information in a group of fields. (My wording)
The creator of the database must establish the fields and their name. In this case you are the creator. The names can be anything you wish, but it is wise to at least name the fields so that one can understand what each contains. For instance, fname for First Name. Of course you could just as easily use the latter.
CorelDRAW's merger wizard is where you establish the field names and the record data. The screen you are referring to is where you enter the name the fields. (ex. Name, address, city)
I am working in X3, but as I remember it should look very similar to Version 11.
Once you have all your fields named, you enter the data on the next page. The Print Merge Wizard in not fancy but it is effective in doing what you want.
You name your database when you save it as a file. You will have 3 choice of file types. It is your preference as to which to use.
What I ment is now I know how to make the Dada Fields and give them a Name.
So wen I enter Dada In the Fields F Name L Name Address City State Zip.
It is all for one person.
So wen I want to ad More peop addresses and city state I ment do I have to click next or save befor I can ad a new persons address?????????
Lets make this a little easier. Make a screen print of your data input screen and post it on this thread. I am working from memory and cannot recall exactly what it looks like. It should be very similar to the one I posted above. If you hit the enter key in the last field, Corel should create a new record for you to enter data into. Perhaps I am wrong. Awaiting your image of the input screen.
My screen capture was not working right but thanks to you and everyone here I think it is going good and I think I understand a little bit more.
I have just made a Data Bass and put my Familys addresses in it and saved it and it worked.
Now just one thing and I don't think it realy matters but I just would like to understand it?
Wen you go into the Print Marge wizard the first screen is were you give every Field a Name I get this First Name Last Name address city state.
And this is what I did I typed a Name for the field and click AD Tab and it went into the window and I just keep ading names to the fields.
Now under were you type the names you want for the fileds there is a checkbox that says................
Incrimantal Data Fileds
I did not put a checkmarck in it.
Then I clicked next and entered data in the fileds I just Named and addded my contects to the rec. and clicked NEXT.
On the last screen wen I saved my Data Bass setting to my desktop there is that Checkbox again
but now it says
Save Incrimantale Dada.
Does this have to do with the first screen were I gave the dada fields there names and there was a chechbox there that sayed incrimantle dada fields???????????????????????
Do these just keep the rec. in order or what is it for I thought they are conected???
The Save Incremental Data box does have to do with the created Database, if you have an Incremental field. It is there even if you do not.. It has nothing to do with the Rec# (Corel creates this)
If you have an incremental field you have the choice to save the data in that field or not. Checking the box will save the data. Un-checking the box will save the field but not the data. I have had some difficulties having an incremental field and not saving the data when I try to open the database at a later date.
I you do not have an incremental field it does not matter what you do. Leaving it checked will not hurt anything.
Hint. In one of your post you show that you name a field L name. I would suggest you do not use spaces in a field name. Lname or L_name would be better. I have seen problems using space in field name when opening the Database at later date or importing it into a more sophisticated application.
Once again, I recommend you use a spread sheet application for creating a Print-Merge list.
yes they are all addresses for my contects.
So after I give the fields a name check the box Incramental Data Fields this will keep the rec in order right this is all it does???
So if I don't have this checked it wont mass up my rec right??
