I'm having trouble figuring out how to duplicate and enlarge a selected area in a drawing for Corel Draw 11 Mac OSX 10.5.
I'm creating a map (7 layers) and trying to select one small area that needs to be enlarged to show detail. I want to copy this section, enlarge it, and then paste it in another area on the same page.
The problem I run into is that I seem to be able to select an area, but any lines that extend beyond the selected area don't get included in the copy. Alternatively, I can copy all lines that exist within my selected area, but when I copy it I get the full length of the line including portions that extend beyond my selected zone.
Any ideas?
Hi.
One way.
Click to create a new graphic. Import the file in question. It will import as grouped, perfect.
Circle the area needed by creating a circle, then use the intersect feature to to chop a copy of the contents into the circle. Copy and paste the intersected section it into the main open file.

Hi John
Here's another way. All time favorite of mine.
Circle the area needed by creating a circle or any closed object will do. Window > Dockers > Lens. Apply magnify lens to the drawn object with 1x magnification. Ok I am cheating here with not applying any magnification to the object. Then check the Frozen box in the docker.
Take the frozen object and ungroup it, resize it as required.
