I have searched for hours and tried the directions but I can't figure this out. I have thousands of hours logged up on this prog, but I've never tried layering. Here's what I want to do:
BG layer = photo of a wall
Next layer up: Human shadow cast on the wall
Final layer: Human standing in front of wall
Normally i would just have 3 pics and clone the person and the shadow onto the wall, but I may need to resize or move the person and/or the shadow to get the effect I want. Can anyone tell me the specific steps for this? I will have the shadow and human pics on a transparent background unless that's not the way to go.
Thank you
In Photoshop it's called layers in Photopaint it's called objects so open a new cpt w/transparent background and put each pic on it's own object (layer)
Thanks Bob, but I tried that. Here's what happens - I open up the objects docker, then open my wall pic. It shows the wall pic as the background layer. So far so good. I open shadow photo and it becomes the bacground photo! I even tried creating new object first, THEN open the shadow pic, same deal, it become the BG photo. Whichever pic is highlighted in the workspace becomes the BG layer! What am I missing?
Thanks
Ooops, sorry Bob, i read your reply too quicly. I'll try your suggestion. TY
One way to get a new layer into an open image is to drag an image in to the window. Or you can use file > import.. Or edit > paste (if you have something on the clipboard).
Thanks, Harry. That works great! Just what I need for this particular project.
Thanks for the suggestion Bob, your approach may make more sense on another project; and I have made a note of it.
The artwork I'm doing is for an upcoming album I'm working on. Perhaps I will post the pic or a link to it after it is released.
