I need help with a Macro that will allow me to replace text throughout a document. There are several text areas that need replacing... each with different 'place holder' text and requiring different text to be inserted. Currently I have four such place holders. For example:1. *COMPANY* is replaced with the Company Name2. *ADDRESS* is replaced with the Address3. *CONTACT* is replaced with the Customers Name... etc.
I can't get this to work with the built-in record Macro function as it will not record the 'Replace Text' function in Corel. I cannot use Mail Merge as I need to pause between each set of changes (all text changes can be made at once) but I need to change colors and art prior to printing.
Does anyone know how I can do this?I am willing to pay for assistance.
thanks... Charles
does this help you?

It does not help as far as I can tell... but, thanks for the link.
We will be making several hundred changes to the templates and I need some sort of GUI interface to allow an operator to make the changes without having to modify the VBA for each change.
My VB knowledge is very limited and I need some pretty rudimentary pointers (or a paid expert who can provide a finished solution) on how to make this work... I am no VB expert by any means.
We are trying to automate for the purpose of printing some 'Micro Postcards' for marketing purposes and need something that is quick and easy to use.

I'd do something like this with Mail merge and merge to new document, a new feature in X4. then you can change colors or anything as required while still in Coreldraw before printing.
With X3, you can try to output to device independent PS file and then re-import that, even imposed files created using Draw's print engine.
note that merge fields can be any color and the inserted text will adopt.
how many companies are you trying to merge/replace?
This will be an ongoing project... so, there will be several thousand as the process continues. Each Corel Template will be changed to reflect the appropriate company... then a couple of color and one art change... then print 6 copies of each.
Then we would move on to the next company and repeat the process.
Essentially, I want to create custom postcards for each company on our mailing list.
thanks

Hi Charles,
I'll send you a movie for how I'd do this...
OK... my solution is to update to CorelDraw X4 (and spend a couple of hours setting up all the defaults on two computers) and getting the MonsterMerge available here:http://macromonster.com/index.php?mod=descr&id_desc=42
Thanks to all for the help!
