hi all
The same old error is repeated by the corel.
The document palette should consist only the used colors in the document. It is having more than document colors and even when resetted some of unused spot colors are not deleting. Saying that it is in use, even if the spot colors are not used inthe document.
When reset palette is used, and if the bitmaps are existed in the document asking that how many colors you want and usually one could not look to extract the colors from the bitmap. They will select the desired color from the bitmap using the color picker.
THE COLOR STYLE DOCKER CAN BE REMOVED and the options like global color change and convert to spot, cmyk or rgb can be incorporated in the document palette itself.
For instance If only 2 colors are used in the document for many elements, and if i drag and drop any color on document palette it is not replacing all of them at all. Again going for COLOR STYLES, Here is also having not used colors in the document.
see the attachment of color style for numerous colors, which are not presented in the document
The Color Styles is a GREAT feature of CorelDRAW, unfortunately only a few people use it and of course, is not perfect. As far I know, the origina of those wrong or unwanted color styles is from an illegal version of CorelDRAW that most people download fro internet, that modify part of the content of the program. The original version does not cause this problem, but if have an original progrm and open a file created on those wrong version, causes a corruption of the program, and it remain for future files.
If you creates a new document on CorelDRAW X5 you should not ave this problem. It's a legacy problem, of course we want to be fixed because it's something annoying.
Please see the attachment as how the document palette should be
This should be considered by the corel developers
this is what a user should look despite of different approaching
regards
ram
Selecting "Reset Palette" will force the palette to be rebuilt with the colors that are used in the document.

Hi.
I think Ram has a pretty good idea. Instead of the document palette, maybe even a docker with all of his features.
An auto-reset feature of the doc palette might be good too.

This is the way to convert something easy to something really hard to understand and manage. The idea is good, but too complex. What we need is to have easy and fast solutions, such as a secondary mouse menu with:
See the attachment
as WHAT ALL THE USERS EXPECT FROM THE COREL DRAW X5
Ofcourse these are all remains as GOOD but never implemented
ITS TRULY ASHAME THING as there should be a color menu for all the related things. for a simple conversion like convert to spot one has to go for color styles select the desired color to select the convert to spot. We should have to go as what they have provided and never considered what user expects
There is much more to describe about the color docker what i created
