Hello, is there a way to make a blend on an irregular object, for instance an object made with custom curves using the bezier tool. I can get it to blend with a circle or square. Here is an example, this is my website. www.creationindex.com. I did the top graphic one object at a time. Thanks
for this object, it's easier to use the Countour tool, and choose "to center"
for irregular objects, you can use the "select nodes" feature on the propierty bar, for select the nodes you want to match. The Blend is made node-by-node
As Ariel suggests, contour will often give the desired result more easily.
But you can blend between two bezier objects. You need to consider whether you want to blend a fill, an outline or both.
To blend an outline, both objects must have outlines, but one of them could be the white or the colour of your background. It does not matter whether the path is closed or open.
To blend the fill, the objects must be closed (you can use auto-close to be certain) and both objects must also have a fill. One of the fills can be the colour of your background (or can even have transparency), but it if either end has "no fill" then the entire blend will also have no fill.
so basically if you want to blend an object with a fill and outline to another color, you can do it by duplicating the original object the resize it smaller and line up the nodes. The object i did on my website, was made by duplicating the original object then making the duplicate smaller and lining it up with the original object. The did that one with a hairline outline and lining the outlines up one at a time. I have been experimenting with contour but it doesn't seem to make as smooth of a blend. I was just wondering if there is a quick way to make a very smooth blend, because that one took forever to make. thanks
