Book Imposition Layouts, Converting fonts etc.

I am into designing brochure, magazines (40 pages 2 monthly and one 48 pages monthly), books etc. Sometimes pages are more than 200 or 250 in annual issues. I am preparing it in corel 11 with facing 2 page layout and then manually giving page numbers and setting manually in sheet (8 pages in one sheet, so 1-8, 9-16 ... as per attached file). Recently i learn imposition option in corel print preview, but prolem i faced is like -

1) I have to prepare pdf file for sending it to positive. For that I tried CutePDF writer in Print option, I have doubt, will it prepare proper pdf which can be go for printing process, i mean result will be good as per cdr file, what about image resolution etc? is there any other good pdf writer?

2) Can i save imposition file in cdr format rather than pdf?

3) I cant get cutmarks as i wish from imposition option, i want cutmarks as per my attached file, 'L' shape in every corner page's corner and 'I' in middle.

4) Numbering of more than 200 pages is difficult task, i learn macro option from this site but for that i have to turn my pages in single page view from facing page view, (Its ok, not big problem but still) is there any other option for numbering facing pages?

5) is there any other option for converting all text fonts together in all 200 pages?

6) Sometimes i face problem with convering continuous paragraph text (linked paragraph text). when i select one box and give ctrl Q command most text box convert in curves but few boxes will dissapear after converting, for that i have to export as eps and import again before converting.

in Short is there any step by step process which can reduce my task? >My page size is 21cmX28cm, For less pages center binding layout, otherwise perfact binding layout (as per attached file) >After creating more than 200 pages, i have to put left and right master pages (which include name of magazine, Page number, month and year info and some decorative stuffs, cut marks), then have to give manual numbering, then page to page convert to curves and grouping of each page, then setting them in imposition layout in 8page set and then senging cdr file for positive.

You don't need CutePDF, Acrobat or other. Just File/Publish to PDF with individual pages, using PDF X/3

CorelDRAW is quite old for use, I advice you to update to a newer version.

No, but you don't need it. What the printer service need is to create their own imposition, using the native CDR file or individual PDF files.

This is how CorelDRAW creates their cropmark, under the Print preview (por Print/prepress tab). Only requires the page size at the real size. btw if ou want to create manual cropmarks you can use a macro (ie cropmarks from oberonplace.com or macromonster.com), but the best way is to crete directly from the Print Previe or with the Publish to PDF menu

This is one of the problems for use an old version. Newst version are better to add page numbering to facing pages

You can use a macro for this: http://macromonster.com/index.php?mod=descr&id_desc=47&pageNum_rs_products=1&keyword=text&Submit=Go

but is not a really good idea to convert all text as curves. The best solution is to use the Prepare for Service Bureau option, wich create a folder with a copy of your document and the used fonts. And, if you Publish as PDF you can convert all text to curves automatically

CorelDRAW is easy, simple, fast. Try to take advantadge of the benefits of this program. If you convert manually each page, each paragraph, export to eps, import again... it's a hard job and is not necessary. If you printer service use CorelDRAW 11, send the native file. If they use a newest version or PDF software, send a PDF.

CorelDRAW can add information and all what you need. Macromonster also gives you a macro for add custom page information:

btw most what you need is on the Print Preview menu and/or Print/prepress
