I've problem with Corel Photo Paint. After i taked a virus the program give me this kind of error message and close; i checked out the register but almost all is good to me. The only thing that missed is the file msi....that should be in the windows\installer foler; this is absent, maybe it was erased from my Antivirus.
How i can fix it? I tried to push F8 to restore the default setting, but nothing
I've the old CD...but now it's unreadable
I never used version 11 which you seem to do, but when I got runtime error with X5 (15) version, I basically got rid of it after installing the service pack 3 that came with X5. Try to see if there is a service pack for version 11 at Corels website www.corel.com and in the menu look for support, updates and patches and there it might be.
Hope that helps. At least worth a try to begin with.
If you first try to reinstall it from the beginning and then install any service pack available maybe thats even better if any file might have gone away.
Also, remember if you are using your version 11 on a new Windows 7 version, it wont work well, due to version 11 came out when XP was the new thing on the block. Version 11 is not optimized to work on later versions after XP.
yes the service pack exist for corel 11. you think i can fix this issues?
ehy....i tried to download the savefix, but it says that corel draw isn't installed in my computer...but it's false!!! Miss only the msi file.....
Hello daraku; Tell us about your computer, What kind, The setup, and Which Windows. ( That may help to get more advice along with what has been said above. ) If you are having trouble reading the CD try putting it in another computer and see if it will read it, it may just be a bad CD player.

If you do a complete reinstall of version 11, it should replace the missing msi file if it is needed.
What may be happening is that it is seeing that you already have it installed, so it is trying to do a repair install or a change install. In that case, you may need to delete the CorelDraw folders (first checking that you have not saved any documents there) in order to do the install completely from the start.
I use windows XP, Notebook Asus X5DIN, the software has worked well, but after i get a virus, and remove it with antivirus it don't work anymore. I tried putting the Cd in another one, but it is slowly...and sometime is blocked. I've copied the msi file from another installation of another pc and put this one in the installer folder under windows, but the prob remain!!!
I should modify the register keys...
Hello daraku; When I work on a Computer that has a virus I down load the bios for that computer to a thumb drive on a clean computer start the computer in Dos mode and load the bios then low & high level format the hard driv and start from the beginning. Hopefully you will have a clean backup of you work files, if not you could load the virus again when you load the work files. ( That's the way I do a computer that doesn't use the ROM for a bios.) All computers made in the last few years that I have seen have RRM and can be infected. The new virus software has come a long way but I just don't trust it to clean out all of the virus once you have it. This day and time with the places you can go on the net I think it is a good idea to have a up to date AV running all the time on your computer.
